Before the Presidential imagery, Jay was just the best out. The Roc looked unbeatable with Memphis Bleek and Beanie on deck. Here he is at the legendary NYC nightclub The Tunnel. That Funkmaster Flex promoted Sunday night at the Tunnel was a major part of a lot people’s careers. 2000 heads united every week for that raw shit.
This aint “Suit and Tie, rocking at Glastonbury” Jay. This is “White T, Forces, Fights in the club but we still rocking with the Yankee fitted brim DUMB low” JIGGA. [Sidenote See if you can spot producer Rocwilder in the crowd. Must be an ill feeling to FEEL your record ringing off and you right in the mix]

“This dude is on another page in a different book.”
That was the best way to describe one of my good friends in high school, Desi. He just saw the world differently. And that different view painted everything that he did. From clothes to music to hairstyles, he just rocked his way. We’re talking about a guy who wore pajamas to school. At one point he had a sloped flat top. That was until he twisted half of it into dreads. Read more…
Brand new joint from Jigga. Word is that its from the American Gangster sessions. Cool mid tempo joint. Not a killer so I can see why it may have been left off but it does have a few good lines.

“My President is Black my Maybach too
And I’ll be Goddamn if my diamonds ain’t ain’t blue
My money is dark green and my Porsche is light grey
And I’m headed for D.C. anybody feel me
My President is Black in fact he’s half white
So even in a racist mind he’s half right
Even in these racist times we alright
My President is Black but his house is all white
Rosa Parks sat so Martin Luther can walk
Martin Luther walked so Barack Obama can run
Barack Obama ran so all the children can fly
So I’m a spread my wings you can meet me in the sky
I already got my own clothes already got my own shoes
I was hot before Barack imagine what I’m gonna do
Hello Miss America, hey pretty lady
Red white & blue flag wave me for me baby
Never thought I’d say this shit, baby I’m good
You can keep your puss I don’t no more Bush
No more wars no more Iraq
No more white lies my President is Black.”
The doctor said its going to take 3 weeks of recovery

With all my n*&^*, all my guns, all my women
Biggie Smalls - “Real Niggaz Do Real Things (Original West Coast Version)
I am nervous about this movie. This is one of the biggest figures in Hip Hop. This joint HAS to be right. That said. Whatever I feel is nothing compared to what the filmmakers feel. The pressure is serious. I will be there in the theater. In honor of the Big, here is a couple joints. The verse above is taken from Mister Cee’s Classic tribute mixtape. Here is the double disc edition for you along with some other hot joints. Now throw some ice up for the nicest MC.
“I’m a Brooklyn boy/I may take some getting used to.” - Jay Z
With the Notorious movie coming out this week, Brooklyn has been heavy on my mind lately. I lived in Brooklyn for about a year and I loved it. There is a special energy there. The minute I arrived I felt like I was home. The fierce pride that people claim that spot is just like Boston. The same hard headed swagger that we don’t give a fuck where you from. The serious island influence that is on every corner. Carnival in Brooklyn is like no other. Brooklyn reminded me of home.
Jay Z decided to hold his man Big down with a tribute to the borough for the Notorious soundtrack. Once that beat was in the street you had to know Brooklyn was coming out. Fab jumped on the track. Then a couple of days ago Mos rocked a verse on it at a show. Here is all three.
Sidenote: Now if we can get MOP on this it would be SERIOUS!!!!
I have been a big Jadakiss fan for a minute. Always thought his word play was mean. Voice was attention grabbing. Dude is just NICE. Every guest appearance has been a scene stealer. Now his set up is looking nice. Hot verses on Maino’s Hi Hater remix, Slim’s So Fly remix. Jada even blessed NKOTB with a verse for Summertime. When you have Jay doing the adlibs on your street single, you might be doing something right.
